Link The Austerity Debacle

Look at Britain to see the tragic effects of a very bad idea.

People seem to readily forget just how much government DOES, instead choosing to focus on its faults and even the ineptitude of it, which isn’t a fault of the program, but the people running it (ultimately Congress). So the first instinct to “trim the fat” ends up laying off or firing thousands, which whether it needs to happen or not, is not something a struggling economy can handle well. It’s simple logic, no sociology or economics degree required, but people seem to continue to struggle with it.
